BINDER OR FOLDERĭefinitely get yourself a binder or a folder to store all of the papers that you use when studying your Bible. Give your bible study supplies a HOME inside of your home. You just need paper, colored pencils (if you don’t want your background to be white), a ruler, clear tape (to laminate your tab) and a marker! I definetly recommend creating tabs if you want to memorize scripture and moments in scripture! It’s so fun! Tabs are such a great way to keep track of important moments, characters, and words in the Bible. I recently got into creating tabs for my Bible and I’m OBSESSED. Gel pens are my favorite kind of pens to underline verses and circle words with. The Pilot G-207 pens are great for writing but not for writing on your actual Bible (they’re too strong) Plus there are more color options! GEL PENS I prefer to highlight with colored pencils rather than highlighters. I love coloring lightly over verses because it helps me separate themes and characters from each other. However, I avoid highlighting entire verses in my Bible because highlighters usually bleed through the paper! COLORED PENCILS Highlighters are great for highlighting KEY words and titles! Here are my top 3 favorite writing utensils to use on my Bibles: HIGHLIGHTERS How can you read a soul-touching verse and NOT highlight or underline it? Does reading (or studying) your bible even count if you don’t personally engage with it? I personally love writing directly on my bibles. I don’t really understand people who don’t write on their Bibles. I don’t use pencils much, but they’re always good to have around! ![]() Sharpies are so good for bold titles and headings! The black ones are my fave! The dual feature is incredible because one side serves as a marker and the other side as a pen. These are so great if you love creating art work for your studies! I have yet to find pens that last longer or write better than these! DUAL BRUSH PENS I swear by my Pilot G-207 pens! They come in 10 different colors. The more, the merrier (: (: (: Here are some writing utensils to stock up on: COLORED PENS Trust me, you will enjoy writing more if you have cute pens, markers and pencils. In order to write, you need ” writing utensils”, right? So, definitely consider stocking up on your writing utensils. So you definitely need some sort of book or paper to write in for your bible studies! Here are some options: It’s honestly impossible to study without writing. I have an unhealthy amount of journals and notebooks around my house that are solely dedicated to my bible studies. Is it even possible to read your Bible without jotting things down? ![]() If you’re wondering what version you should read in, I recommend using the KJV or the NKJV version! I personally love my ESV Interleaved Journaling Bible ( click here to learn about it) ![]() So, if you truly want to make the best out of your bible study time, invest in a bible that will make your bible studying experience more fun and effective. Regular bibles are great for church and daily readings, but not for intense studies. I’d recommend purchasing a Bible Study Biblerather than a regular bible.
